About the event

Love your STEM subjects, but can't wait for art lessons too? We've got you covered this National Science Week. 

Go2Qurious presents a fully online live recording or our kids science podcast Actually, it's Phytoplankton! with a special hands-on sci-art workshop from award winning scientific illustrator Kirsten Carlson. Kirsten is based in Germany and will join podcast hosts Dr Jamie Coull and Dr Lachlan McKinna via video conference.  Audiences will also hear from our resident Phytoplankton expert Dr Ivona Cetinić, joining us from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in the USA. 

Participants in Australia can access a limited number of art materials. Go2Qurious will post art materials to registered participants within Australia (conditions apply). For other online registrations, a list of necessary materials will be provided on our social media channels in the lead up to the event (@go2qurious). 

Join us online (lockdown or no lockdown) August 19th for some science and giggles to celebrate National Science Week with the Actually, it's Phytoplankton! team. 

This event is free (upon registration), and supported by National Science Week and The Australian Commonwealth Government.
